Payment Methods

Last updated:

This page explains how paying for a Clover Stitch order works: which payment options appear at checkout, what you are charged and when, how prices and currency work, how personalisation add-ons are charged, and how we keep payment details safe. We keep it deliberately plain, because the honest answer to “how can I pay?” is always “whatever the checkout page shows you at that moment”.

Payments at a glance

  • Payment options: the methods shown on the checkout page when you place your order are the ones available.
  • Currency: all prices are in US dollars (USD).
  • Shipping: free to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, so no shipping charge is added.
  • Sales tax: not collected at checkout.
  • Add-ons: optional personalisation add-ons are charged only when you fill them in or tick them.
  • Card details: we never ask for card numbers by email, and we never store full card numbers.

1. Which payment methods you can use

The payment options available to you are the ones displayed in the payment section of our checkout page when you place your order. We list nothing here that you cannot actually select, and we do not show payment logos in our footer or on product pages for methods that are not active at checkout.

Payment is handled by an established third-party payment provider. When you choose a method at checkout, you complete the payment either on our checkout page through the provider’s secure fields or on the provider’s own secure page, depending on the method. Either way, your full card or account details go to the provider, not to us.

If you reach the payment step and do not see an option that works for you, please email [email protected] before giving up on a gift. Tell us which method you were hoping to use and we will tell you honestly whether it is available.

2. What you are charged

The amount you pay is the total shown on the checkout page before you confirm the order. It is made up of:

  • the price of each item, as shown on its product page for the size and colour you chose;
  • any optional personalisation add-on you selected, such as “Add est. year under the title” on the Grandma sleeve-names crewneck (+$4.00), “Add a year on the back” on the Kids Name sweatshirt (+$5.00) or “Year on the side” on the Custom Title dad hat (+$3.00);
  • nothing for shipping, because shipping is free to all four countries we deliver to.

We do not add handling fees, payment surcharges or service charges. Clover Stitch does not collect sales tax at checkout, so no tax line is added to your order.

Prices shown in this table are examples taken from our product pages on the date at the top of this page. The product page and the checkout always show the current price.

3. Currency and international orders

All prices on Clover Stitch are set and charged in US dollars. If you pay from Canada, Australia or New Zealand with a card or account in another currency, your bank or payment provider converts the amount at its own exchange rate and may charge its own conversion fee. Those are set by your provider, not by us, so the amount on your statement may differ slightly from the dollar total at checkout.

Import duties, taxes or fees that a destination country may apply when a parcel arrives are separate from our checkout total and depend on the destination country’s rules. Our Shipping & Delivery page has more on this.

4. When you are charged

Your payment is taken when you place the order. You receive an order confirmation email straight away, with your order number and a summary of what you ordered, including every title, year and name you typed. Keep that email: it is the starting point for any change, cancellation or question.

If a payment does not go through, the order is not placed and nothing is made. You may see a temporary authorisation from your bank for a failed attempt; banks normally release these on their own. If one stays on your account for longer than you expect, contact your bank, and email us if you need confirmation that no order was created.

5. Personalisation add-ons, explained

Our custom pieces have fields above the Add to cart button. Most of them are free: choosing a title, typing a year or names, picking a thread colour. A few fields carry a small add-on price, shown in brackets next to the field’s label. The rule is simple: an add-on is charged only if you fill it in or tick it. Leave it empty and the price stays exactly as shown on the product page. The add-on appears as part of the item’s price in your cart, so you can check it before paying.

Add-ons follow the same refund rules as the item they belong to. If you return the item within 60 days, the add-on is refunded with it.

6. Refunds to your payment method

Refunds go back to the payment method used for the order, within 7 days of us receiving your return, or as store credit if you prefer. Store credit never expires. Cancellations within 24 hours of ordering are refunded in full with nothing to send back. For every detail, see our Refund Policy, and for the steps of sending something back, our Returns & Exchanges Policy.

7. Keeping your payment safe

  • Our whole site, including checkout, is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Look for the padlock in your browser’s address bar.
  • Card and account details are entered into the payment provider’s secure fields or pages. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • We will never ask you for a card number, security code, password or one-time code by email, through our ticket page or in any other message. If you receive a message claiming to be from Clover Stitch that asks for these, do not reply — forward it to [email protected].
  • Our emails come from addresses ending in @cloverstitch.shop. Links in them point to cloverstitch.shop.

How we handle personal data in general — including what the payment provider receives — is explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Gift purchases

You can pay for an order that ships to someone else. Enter your own details as the billing details and the recipient’s name and address as the shipping address. The payment and the confirmation email belong to you, so any change, cancellation or refund is arranged through you. Refunds always go back to the payment method used, which keeps gifts simple for the person who receives them.

9. Gift cards, coupons and store credit

We do not sell gift cards at the moment, and there is no public discount code running. If we ever offer one, it will be explained on the site with its exact terms. Store credit from a return can be used at checkout and never expires; if you have credit and are unsure how to apply it, email us and we will help.

10. Payment problems and what to do

11. Prices and price changes

Prices on our product pages are the prices we charge. We do not show crossed-out “was” prices, invented discounts or countdown offers. Prices can change over time; the price that applies to your order is the one shown at checkout when you place it. If a price changes after you ordered, your order is not affected in either direction.

Some products have the same price in every size and colour. Where a product’s price depends on an option — for example the Matching Mama & Mini set, which includes two sweatshirts — the price updates on the product page as soon as you select the options, before you add it to the cart.

12. Splitting a family gift

Families often share the cost of a gift for Grandma or Mom. Our checkout takes one payment per order, so one person places the order and the others settle up with them directly. If several family members each want to pay for their own piece — for example three sisters ordering three Auntie Club sweatshirts — each can place a separate order with free shipping to the address of their choice.

13. Check your confirmation email

Right after paying, open the confirmation email and check four things: the total you paid, the shipping address, the size and colour of each item, and every title, year and name exactly as it will be stitched. If anything is wrong, you have 24 hours to tell us so we can correct it before production. Our Cancel or Change an Order page explains how.

14. Your account and saved details

You can check out with or without creating an account. An account lets you see past orders and any store credit in one place. We do not save full card numbers in your account; if a payment provider offers to remember your details, that is stored by the provider under its own terms, not by Clover Stitch.

15. Disputes

If something about a payment looks wrong, please contact us first. We reply within 24 hours on business days and can usually sort it out much faster than a formal dispute. If you have already opened a dispute with your bank or provider, tell us, and we will share the order details they need.

16. Contact

Email [email protected] with your order number (if you have one). We reply within 24 hours on business days. More answers in our FAQs and the Help Center; legal terms in our Terms of Service.
