Shipping & Delivery
Last updated:
Most Clover Stitch orders are gifts with a date attached: Mother’s Day, a new baby, Nana’s birthday, the first family photo with a new auntie. This page explains exactly how long an embroidered sweatshirt, hoodie, tee, hat or tote takes to reach you, where we deliver, what it costs (nothing) and what to do if something goes wrong on the way. Every order ships from the USA.

1. Where we deliver
We currently deliver to four countries: the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Checkout only offers addresses in those countries. If you live elsewhere but want to surprise someone who lives in one of them, that works perfectly: enter their address as the shipping address and your own details as the billing address.
Within those countries we deliver to street addresses and to the kinds of postal addresses the carrier accepts in that country. If you are unsure whether a rural route, a military address or a remote island address can be served, email us before ordering with the full address and we will check it for you. We would rather answer a question first than have a sweatshirt travel back and forth.
| Destination | Shipping cost | Processing | Transit after shipping |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | Free, no minimum | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
| Canada | Free, no minimum | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
| Australia | Free, no minimum | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
| New Zealand | Free, no minimum | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days |
2. How the timeline works
Your total wait has two parts, and it helps to think about them separately when you are working back from a birthday or a hospital due date.
2.1 Processing: 1–3 business days
Every piece is embroidered to order. Processing is the time between your order being placed and the parcel leaving us. During those 1–3 business days the garment is prepared in the colour and size you chose, your title, year or names are embroidered exactly as you typed them, the piece is checked against your order and packed. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding US public holidays. An order placed on a Friday evening therefore starts its processing time on Monday.
The first 24 hours of processing double as your change window. If you spot a typo in a name or chose the wrong kids size, email us inside those 24 hours and we will correct it before the stitching starts.
2.2 Transit: 7–14 business days
Once your parcel ships, the carrier usually needs 7–14 business days to deliver it to an address in the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. That range covers ordinary variations: distance, the day of the week it ships, how busy postal networks are in the weeks before big holidays.
2.3 Putting it together
Add the two parts: 1–3 business days of processing plus 7–14 business days of transit gives a typical total of about 8 to 17 business days, which is roughly two to three and a half calendar weeks. For a date that really matters, we suggest ordering at least four calendar weeks ahead.
| Situation | Processing | Transit | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mama est. 2019 crewneck to Ohio for Mother’s Day | 1–3 days | 7–14 days | Order about four weeks before the Sunday |
| Grandma sleeve-names crewneck to Nana in Ontario | 1–3 days | 7–14 days | Same timeline as a US address; allow a little extra around holidays |
| Big Sister sweatshirt for an announcement photo in Auckland | 1–3 days | 7–14 days | Book the photo after the expected delivery date, not before |
| Three Auntie Club sweatshirts to three addresses | 1–3 days each | 7–14 days each | Place three separate orders, one per address |
3. What shipping costs
Nothing. Shipping is free on every order to all four countries, with no minimum order value and no coupon to remember. The price you see on the product page plus any optional personalisation add-on you choose is the price you pay for the item and delivery. There is no separate handling fee.
We do not offer paid express upgrades at the moment, so the only way to receive an order sooner is to place it sooner. If a date is very tight, email us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether the normal timeline is likely to make it.
4. Ordering several items or for several people
When an order contains several pieces, such as a Mama hoodie and a Little Clover kids crewneck, we aim to send them together once every piece is ready. Occasionally pieces from one order may be sent in more than one parcel; if that happens, shipping is still free and you will receive a message for each parcel.
One order can only go to one address. If you are sending gifts to different people — three sisters in three cities, for example — please place a separate order for each address. That also keeps sizes and titles clear for everyone.
The Matching Mama & Mini set is made and shipped together, both sweatshirts in one parcel.
5. Shipping confirmation and tracking
When your order leaves us you receive a shipping confirmation email at the address you used at checkout. If the carrier provides a tracking number for your parcel, it is included in that email, and you can follow the status on the carrier’s website. You can also look up your order status any time on our Order Tracking page with your order number and email address.
Tracking updates are written by the carrier, not by us. It is normal for a parcel to show no movement for a few days while it travels between facilities, especially when crossing a border into Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
6. Addresses: getting them right
Most delivery problems start with a small address detail: a missing apartment number, an old address saved in a browser, a postcode with two digits swapped. Before you place your order, please check:
- the recipient’s full name as it appears on their mailbox or door;
- street number, street name and apartment, unit or suite number;
- city, state, province or region, and the postal code or ZIP code;
- that the country is correct — it is easy to leave a saved country selected by mistake.
If you notice a mistake, email us within 24 hours of ordering with your order number and the corrected address. After 24 hours the order is usually already in production and we may not be able to change it, but write to us anyway and we will do what we can before it ships.
If a parcel comes back to us because the address was incomplete or the recipient could not be found, we will contact you to arrange the next step. Please email us so we can work out the best option for your situation.
7. Customs, duties and taxes outside the US
Orders to Canada, Australia and New Zealand travel from the USA, so they cross a border. Each country has its own rules about import duties, taxes and fees on parcels, and these depend on the destination country, the value of the parcel and the rules in force on the day it arrives. We do not control those charges. If you are unsure, the customs or postal authority of the destination country publishes the current rules. If a fee is requested on delivery and you have questions about it, email us before refusing the parcel so we can help you decide what to do.
Clover Stitch does not collect sales tax at checkout. The total you see is the total we charge.
8. When a parcel is late, lost or damaged
8.1 Running late
If your parcel has not arrived by the end of the 7–14 business day transit window, first check the tracking link if your confirmation email has one, and look around the delivery address: porches, mailrooms, neighbours, a side door. If it is still missing, email us with your order number. We will look into it with the carrier and keep you updated, and we will help you reach a solution.
8.2 Marked delivered but not received
Sometimes a carrier scans a parcel as delivered a day before it actually arrives, or leaves it with a neighbour. Wait one more day, check with neighbours and the building office, then email us with your order number and we will help from there.
8.3 Damaged on arrival or wrong item
If the sweatshirt arrives damaged, the embroidery does not match what you typed, or you received the wrong size or colour, please email us with your order number and a photo of the item and the label. If the mistake is ours, we put it right at no cost to you. See our Returns & Exchanges Policy for how replacements and returns work, and our Refund Policy for refund timing.
9. Busy seasons
The weeks before Mother’s Day, Grandparents Day, Thanksgiving and the December holidays are the busiest of the year for family gifts. Our processing time stays at 1–3 business days, but postal networks in all four countries slow down. If your gift is tied to one of those dates, order early and keep the extra time in mind. We do not promise delivery by a specific date, and we will never show a countdown clock to hurry you.
10. Planning tips for family dates
A few habits make the timeline much less stressful, especially for the pieces families order around a birth or a visit.
- New baby on the way: babies rarely follow the calendar. For a Big Sister or Big Brother sweatshirt, order once you know the month, and choose the kids size the older child will wear a month or two from now rather than today.
- Grandparents who travel: if Nana spends winter somewhere else, ship to the address where she will be when the parcel arrives, not where she is when you order.
- Several family members: collect everyone’s sizes and the exact spelling of every name before you order, so that nobody needs a change after the 24-hour window.
- Surprise gifts: the parcel arrives in the recipient’s name at their address, so if you want to wrap it yourself, ship it to your own address first.
